** UPDATE: Serious crash involving bus closes main York road **
Police are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the A59, Boroughbridge Road, in York.
It’s near the junction with Lavender Grove, just up from Water End. A number of emergency service vehicles are there and the road is closed in both directions
It is expected to remain shut for some time.
Avoid the area and use alternative routes.
