A serious crash involving a bus closed a York road for several hours on Tuesday night.
It happened on Boroughbridge Road, near Water End.
The road was closed in both directions between Lavender Grove and Water End. It has now reopened.

Police tape cordoned off the area for several hours.
Inside the cordon was a First York Park and Ride bus. The double decker bus is in the lane on Boroughbridge Road heading away from the city.








There were several police vehicles at the scene and officers were carrying out an investigation.
Tyre marks on the road behind the bus were marked out.
There are reports that the bus collided with a pedestrian but that has not yet been confirmed.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said at 8.55pm: “We’re currently at the scene of a serious collision on Boroughbridge Road, near the junction with Lavender Grove in York.
“The road is closed in both directions and is expected to remain shut for some time. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes while emergency services work at the scene.”
