Thor’s tipi is back with a whole new look, new street food, new cocktails, and new community events.
A staple of York’s summer calendar, Thor’s tipi opens on Parliament Street tomorrow (Friday 22 May) from 11am.
The return of the tipi brings back fire pits, live music, DJ sets, street food, and family events right back to the heart of York.

This year, there’s new cocktails on the menu – including a ‘Dirty Dr Pepper’ with Amaretto, Coca Cola and Guinness, and an expanded Spritz menu, with favourites like a Hugo Spritz, Limoncello Spritz, and Paloma Spritz.
There’s also not one, but two new street food traders to tuck into! The Spud Shed will offer loaded jacket potatoes with all your classic toppings, as well as combos like a ‘Dirty Mex’ and ‘Surf ‘n’ Slaw’.
Try some delicious Greek food too with My Big Fat Greek Gyros, which are serving up – you guessed it – gyros! The wraps offer an array of fillings, from chicken, to lamb, to falafel, to halloumi, with tasty combinations too.
There will also be live music every Sunday, see the full line-up here, family rave events with WizardFest, and themed nights every Friday.
Time to get the summer party started in York! Or if you can’t wait until tomorrow, Thor’s is already bringing the vibes at the Milner Hotel Gardens.
