York shopkeeper threatened by customers

Police are investigating after a shopkeeper was threatened in York city centre.

It happened after two men went into a phone shop on Feasegate at 3.15pm on Friday, 20 June.

They tried to buy a phone with a bank transfer, which was alleged to be fraudulent.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The men have become angry and caused a scene in the shop.

“They left via Feasegate towards Costa where threats were made to the shopkeeper.”
