York shop to give away 100 free slices of cake

York is getting a sweet addition this weekend – as Cake Box officially launches its new store on Piccadilly.

The cake shop will open on Saturday 21 March from 11am with a day of free treats, samples and a special mascot appearance.

There will also be 100 free cupcakes for children (while stocks last), as well as free samples throughout the day and a mystery mascot meet and greet.

The new Piccadilly store brings Cake Box’s range of freshly made, egg-free cakes and sweet treats to the heart of the city, offering a convenient stop for everything from birthday celebrations to spontaneous sweet treats while exploring York.

The celebrations will begin from 11am, with giveaways available on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.

Sukh Chamdal, founder and chief executive officer at Cake Box, said: “We’re delighted to be opening in York and bringing Cake Box to such a vibrant and historic city. York has a strong sense of community and a thriving food scene, so it’s a great place for us to be.

“We’re excited to welcome both local residents and visitors into store, whether they’re celebrating something special or simply treating themselves while enjoying the city.”

The company opened its first shop in 2008, and now has more than 250 locations nationwide.
