There were a number of river incidents in York over the bank holiday weekend.
York Rescue Boat was called out three times in the city, and once for an operation further afield.
On Saturday, the team responded to reports of a person in trouble on either Lendal Bridge or Scarborough Bridge.
They were stood down after extensive searches found nothing out of the ordinary.
Later that night, at 9.44pm, they were called to a concern for safety near Scarborough Bridge. “The boat crew attended and located the casualty, who was left in the care of the ambulance service,” a York Rescue Boat spokesperson said.
The team was called back into action on bank holiday Monday. “We were called by the fire service to reports of a person on the wrong side of Millennium Bridge,” the spokesperson said.
“Boat and foot teams attended the scene and were later stood down, with the casualty left in the care of emergency services.”
Later that night, at 11.51pm, they were asked by police to help with searches for a missing person in the Selby area. They were stood down when the person was found.
