Firefighters were called to a report of people trapped in their car in York this afternoon (Tuesday).
It happened at 1.39pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival, crews found two people locked inside an electric vehicle after the remote battery had ran out of power.
“They had made attempts to contact the car manufacturer for remote assistance. However after some time they had to resort to emergency services for assistance.
“A centre point was used to break the window and release both persons inside, unharmed.”
