A child had to be rescued after getting stuck in a stair gate in York today.
Firefighters went to the incident in Acomb at 8.45am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York responded to a report of a child who had got their leg stuck between the bars of a stair gate.
“Crews used bolt croppers to cut the top of the gate, releasing the child’s leg.
“Advice was given to a responsible person.”
