York charity announce opening date for huge new store

St Leonard’s Hospice have revealed the opening date for its brand new retail site at Clifton Moor.

After months of building work, the 16,000 sq ft development on the former B&M site is now complete, offering a huge drive-up donation centre, furniture shop and £1 clearance store.

Clearance items include clothes and accessories for adults and children, as well as homeware.

The final preparations are underway, and the new site will open its doors on Thursday 2 July at Unit 1 and 2, Marrtree Business Park.

From 9.30am on opening day, shoppers can expect great bargains and a special visit from York RLFC teams the Knights and Valkyrie, partners of the Hospice, who will be greeting people throughout the morning.

Jason Lomas, head of retail at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be opening our doors to the community on Thursday 2 July.

“So much work has taken place behind the scenes to ensure that the new Clifton Moor site offers the best possible experience for our donors and customers.

“Whether people are shopping with us or donating pre-loved items, every pound helps make sure local people don’t have to face life-limiting and terminal illness alone.

“We’re so grateful for the community’s support, and we’d encourage everyone to come and enjoy it for themselves. We really hope people will love it.”

The new donation centre and shop will be open between 9am and 4:30pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
