York cafe partner with USA children’s illustrator to launch new kids menu

A York cafe has teamed up with a USA children’s illustrator – and former world yo-yo champion – to launch activity sheets for their new kids menu.

Days cafe on Parliament Street have collaborated with children’s illustrator John Higby for their new kids activity sheets, which depict a fun York scene.

John is based in Boston, USA when he is not touring the world as a yo-yo performer; he is a former world yo-yo champion and recently set a yo-yo Guinness World Record.

He has published his own children’s books and is a friend of owner, Rob Collins.

“At Days we like to go the extra mile for our customers, which is why we have teamed up with children’s illustrator John Higby,” explained Days owner, Rob Collins.

“John has created an amazing York city scene to colour in and has already been a huge hit with kids and families.”

The new kids menu includes classic children’s favourites such as pizzas, handmade chicken goujons and chips, sausage and chips, pancakes with molten chocolate and strawberries, and waffles with Biscoff crumbs.

“Our Juniors Menu has been carefully created to offer delicious, freshly prepared meals that children will love,” said Days head chef Martin Stones.

“Every dish is cooked fresh to order using quality ingredients sourced from trusted local suppliers wherever possible.

“From hearty Yorkshire breakfast favourites and fluffy pancakes to crispy chicken tenders, fresh pizza flatbreads and sweet waffles, there’s something for every appetite.”

Every junior meal also comes with a drink included.

Days is open on Parliament Street every day from 9am to 5pm. They also have a sister venue on Low Petergate. Find out more about the independent cafe at their Instagram page here.
