A woman broke her leg in a crash that closed the A19 south of York today (Tuesday).
It happened near the turn off to Escrick Park at about 9.30am and the road was closed for a while.
Police say a motorbike and a car collided. The woman rider suffered a broken leg and was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “We received an emergency call at 9.24am on Tuesday morning to report a collision on the A19 between Riccall and Escrick.
“An ambulance, a specialist critical care paramedic and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and one patient was taken to York Hospital by road.”
There were long queues while the A19 was shut. But traffic soon returned to normal once the crash was cleared.
