Firefighters came to the rescue of three people trapped in a room in York last night (Tuesday).
They were called by police to the home in Bishopthorpe at 7.41pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Crews from Acomb attended a request from police to assist one female and two children locked in a bedroom after the mechanism on the door handle had failed.
“Crews used no equipment to gain entry.”
