Windows of 15 buses smashed near York causing £100K of damage

Vandals smashed the windows on 15 buses in a wrecking spree that has caused about £100,000 worth of damage.

It happened  at Tockwith Airfield, Southfield Lane, Tockwith on the evening of Monday 21 August between 10pm and 9am.

The bus company involved has not been identified by police but Connexions buses, part of Harrogate Coach Travel, are based on Southfield Lane, Tockwith.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police are now requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“In particular, officers are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the surrounding area at the time of the incident and/or if anyone has any CCTV.”
