Water main burst floods York road – Fire officer called in

A fire officer was called out after a water main burst flooding a road in a York village.

They went to the incident in Stockton On The Forest at 6.24pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A fire officer went to assess reports of flooding in the open.

“On arrival they discovered a burst pipe. Water was draining away down road drains and there was no risk of flooding to properties.

“Yorkshire Water had been informed and will attend when they can. No further fire service action was required.”
