He did it! A Yorkshire strongman has accomplished his heaviest challenge yet.
Strongman Stuart Lambert, from Market Weighton, had set himself the challenge to pull a 64 tonne train.
The attempt took place over the weekend at East Yorkshire’s only heritage railway, Yorkshire Wolds Railway, where Stuart attempted to single-handedly haul locomotive ‘Sir Tatton Sykes’ and freight wagons along the tracks.

He pulled the 64 tonne train a staggering 82ft (25m) across the tracks in exactly 54 seconds.
Stuart told the BBC that he was “chuffed to bits” with the result.
The train at Yorkshire Wolds Railway was the latest in modes of transport Stuart has pulled single-handedly – previous challenges include lorries, fire engines, tractors, and monster trucks.
On social media, Stuart said that it was “one of the toughest physical challenges I’ve ever attempted, but the hard work paid off.”
He also paid a “huge thank you to everyone who came to support and cheer me on. The atmosphere was incredible!”
Stuart was also crowned Charity Fundraiser of the Year at our 2026 YorkMix Hero Awards, with his nomination stating that he “goes above and beyond initiating original challenges to test himself while always providing for others.”
