The moment a man was rescued from the River Ouse today (Friday) was captured on camera.
The man entered the water at about 11.40am.
But he was rescued after quick-thinking people on the bank threw him a life ring and pulled him to safety.

The whole incident, from him going into the river to being assisted up the ladder and back on to dry land, took about four minutes.
Emergency services arrived shortly afterwards.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We received a report at 11.41am today about a man who had entered the River Ouse in York near King’s Staith.
“He was recovered from the water by a member of the public within minutes. The man has been taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment and support.”
An ambulance, rapid response vehicle and a team leader were dispatched to the scene too.
