Police are investigating after a passenger was attacked by a group of people on a Whitby bus.
It happened at about 7.50pm on Tuesday 26 May, and involved a group of two men and two women were on an Arriva bus.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The victim had tried to assist one of the women who shouted that she had just been slapped by one of the men whilst sat at the back of the bus.

“The bus stopped outside the Whitby Golf Club to eject the group after the victim was punched in the face multiple times causing injury.”
The group were overheard saying they were going to the Brotton area.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for any witnesses that may have any evidence that would assist us in identifying the passengers.
