Two women had to be rescued after a lift failed in York city centre.
Firefighters were called to the incident on Station Road at 2.22am today (Tuesday).
The pair were trapped inside a lift stuck between floors.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews were able to manually lower the lift via its manual line gear and release both females safely who had been trapped for approximately 15 minutes prior to crews arrival.
“Lift keys were also used to open the doors once the lift was lowered to the ground floor.”
