Victim hurt after wallet stolen in York street robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery on a busy York street yesterday (Wednesday).

It happened on Bootham at 11.50am.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “During the incident the victim’s wallet was stolen; the victim fell to the ground and suffered minor injuries.

“We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”

The suspect is described as

  • a white male
  • aged in his thirties
  • with a pale and gaunt complexion
  • wearing a camouflage jacket
  • and a dark beanie hat.

He left the area on a bicycle.
