An upmarket bakery chain looks set to open its first North Yorkshire branch.
Gail’s Bakery has 170 stores in the south east and the north west.
Now it is preparing to open its first Yorkshire branch in Harrogate.
The chain is advertising for two jobs in Harrogate: a bakery manager, on a salary of £42,000; and an assistant manager, on £32,900.
The jobs include free food while working, and half-price food when not, as well as 33 days holiday.
Gail’s Bakery began was founded by Gail Mejia, and the first store opened in London’s Hampstead High Street in 2005.

According to Wikipedia: “Gail’s is an upmarket coffee shop chain that offers baked products including croissants and cinnamon buns. It uses packaging and branding designed to feel ‘authentic’ and ‘local’, and is associated with middle-class affluence.”
Its website says: “We bake fresh, handmade bread, pastries and cakes every day, served with our carefully-sourced house blend speciality coffee.
“We take great pleasure in using the best ingredients we can find for food and drink, using seasonal ingredients from suppliers we trust.
“Though we’ve grown over the years, our philosophy has remained the same: to make good food that people love, and create bakeries that people want to keep coming back to.”
