Two crews called to fire at York house

York firefighters were called to an incident in Tang Hall last night (Saturday).

Crews from Huntington and Acomb were called to Tuke Avenue at 9.47pm.

Curtains in a first floor bedroom of a house on the street had caught light.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew entered using rapid deployment and extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet.

“The cause of this fire is believed to have been an overheating extension cable.”
