Firefighters were called to a fire in a York park last night (Thursday).
The Acomb crew went to the incident in West Bank Park at 7.17pm.
One resident posted on Facebook that “two lads set it on fire, witnessed by a group of kids playing in the area”.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Acomb’s crew responded to a fire in a wooded area that had been lit deliberately.
“Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish and the incident was left with police.”
Shortly afterwards, at 7.31pm, York firefighters were called to an attempt to set gorse bushes on fire on Hob Moor.
“Crews checked for hotspots using one thermal imaging camera. However no fire fighting action taken,” the spokesperson said.
