York homes left without water after main bursts

Homes in the east of York may have been left without water this morning (Friday)

It’s affecting residents and businesses in Osbaldwick and Tang Hall, in the YO10 and YO 31 postcodes.

Yorkshire Water says: “You may have no water or low water pressure because of a burst main. We’ll get your water back to normal as soon as possible.

“It may be cloudy or discoloured for a while when it comes back, but you can clear this by running your tap for a few minutes.”

A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “We’re aware that some properties in Tang Hall and Osbaldwick may be experiencing low pressure or no water pressure this morning following a burst main on Fifth Avenue.

“We are on site to assess and begin a repair. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank everyone for their patience – we’ll be looking to get everyone back on normal supply as soon as possible.”
