York’s nerdiest event is back – with an icon of children’s TV!
York Comic Con is returning to the city for its winter edition of their annual event for even more geeky fun and comic chaos. It will take place at York Racecourse on Sunday 1 March from 11am.
This week, organisers Unleashed Events announced a very special guest – Dani Harmer, aka Tracy Beaker.
The BAFTA award-winning actress is best known for playing the titular role in CBBC series The Story of Tracy Beaker and Tracy Beaker Returns.
Dani Harmer was last seen in York in Grand Opera House York’s 2024 pantomime Beauty and the Beast, as Fairy Bon Bon.

The event will include a live Q&A on stage with Dani, and the opportunity to meet this noughties legend!
Another media guest that has been announced to attend is actor James D’Arcy, known for roles in Marvel’s Agent Carter and Avengers: Endgame, and Nolan’s huge films Oppenheimer and Dunkirk.
Con attendees can also expect stage talks, cosplay masquerade, a huge market selling merchandise and collectables from all your favourite franchises – and much more.
Advance tickets for York Comic Con are available for £12 per adult and £6 for under 16’s – advance tickets allow you into the event from 10am and can be purchased online.
General entry is from 11am, and tickets can be purchased on the door (cash only) for the discounted price of £10 per adult and £5 for under 16’s.
