Firefighters were called out to a toilet roll fire in a York park today (May 3).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a small fire in West Bank Park at 1.08pm.
“Acomb’s appliance was mobilised to a small fire in the open consisting of commercial toilet rolls. Crews used one knapsack sprayer to extinguish and dampen down,” said a spokesperson for the service.
It’s as there have been an increase in recent fires across the city.
