Three teenagers were arrested in York last night (Tuesday) after a boy had his e-bike stolen near the Millennium Bridge.
The teenage victim, who was with a friend at the time, had been approached at around 7.30pm by two boys who threatened him before stealing his bike.
In a separate incident, at around 8pm in the Fulford area, a boy was approached by youths demanding his e-bike. He was able to escape and they were left empty-handed.
A short time later, a PCSO on patrol in the Fulford area spotted the potential suspects riding an e-bike and called the information in to colleagues. Three suspects were arrested and taken into police custody for questioning.
They include two 17-year-olds boys, and a 15-year-old boy, who were all arrested on suspicion of robbery.
In addition, one 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault and possessing cannabis, and the other on suspicion of using threatening words or behaviour to cause fear of violence.
They are in custody. The stolen e-bike has not yet been recovered.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “If you witnessed any of the incidents, or have information about where the stolen bike, described as self-built with a grey frame and blue handlebars and saddle, please get in touch.”
