Three people taken to hospital after serious crash in North Yorkshire

Three people were taken to hospital after a serious crash on the A1M in North Yorkshire last night (Monday).

It happened on the northbound carriageway at Boroughbridge at around 10.20pm.

A blue BMW 1 Series and a white Vauxhall Astra van collided.

Police, paramedics and fire crews from Knaresborough, Boroughbridge and Harrogate went to the collision. The road was closed while they worked at the scene.

The driver and two passengers who were travelling in the Astra van received non-life threatening injuries which required hospital treatment. The BMW driver was unharmed.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who recalls seeing either vehicle prior to the collision to contact them.

“They would particularly like to speak to anyone who captured dashcam footage.”
