A premium beauty retailer is set to open in York this autumn.
Beauty brand Space NK will open at 3-7 Coney Street in autumn of this year. The empty unit was previously home to JD Sports, which moved to Davygate last year.
We reported back in March that Space NK had plans to return and open in the city centre – and now the work has started to transform the interior and exterior.

It’s a bit of a homecoming, as Space NK previously had a shop on Davygate before it closed down in 2022.
There’s not much to see yet, but the plans for the unit included a new shop front, and new floor, wall and ceiling finishes at ground and first floor levels.
Founded in 1991, Space NK first opened its doors in Covent Garden in 1993, selling fresh smoothies, independent fashion labels and hard-to-find beauty treasures from emerging international brands such as Diptyque, By Terry and NARS.
Today, there are more than 80 Space NK stores across the UK and Ireland.
The retailer offers everything from luxury skincare, to makeup, fragrance, haircare, accesories, giftsets, and more.
