Thieves break into restaurant and steal charity collection box

Police are investigating a break-in at a restaurant where thieves stole a charity collection box.

Entry has been forced at the Sunar Bangla restaurant on Station Road, Church Fenton, between 10pm on Wednesday 11 January and 4.45pm on Thursday 12 January.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The restaurant was closed at the time and entry has been gained via the front door.

“Several items have been taken including alcohol and a charity box.”
