Two teenage boys were seriously injured in a crash in York last night (Saturday).
Police were called to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Danebury Drive, at the junction with Ostman Road, at 9.40pm.
The collision involved a green Calibre pedal cycle, which had been adapted to be electrically-assisted, and a white Fiat 500 car.
Crash location
The e-bike is thought to have travelled down Ostman Road to the junction of Danebury Drive, where it was in collision with the Fiat, which had travelled from Woodlea Avenue on to Danebury Drive.
Two 15-year-old boys, both from the York area, were taken to hospital with serious injuries, where they remain in serious, but stable, conditions.
The 18-year-old female driver of the Fiat was uninjured.
Fire crews were called in at 1.47am. A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Acomb attended an incident following a road traffic collision at the request of traffic police to assist with scene safety.
“Crews washed down the road way using one hose reel jet and left the incident with the responsible persons.”
Police are asking any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who has CCTV, dashcam footage, or relevant information, to contact them.
