Police have arrested a man they described as the “outstanding suspect” in the Tang Hall shooting.
The 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a certificate and criminal damage.
He remains in police custody.

It follows the discharging of a firearm into an unoccupied parked car on the driveway of a house on Starkey Crescent at around 9.25pm on Saturday (7 March).
Police, including armed officers, have since been conducting intensive searches. A section of the Tang Hall cycle track was taped off.

On Wednesday, police revealed they had made three arrests:
- a 34‑year‑old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm and criminal damage.
- a 32‑year‑old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
- a 29‑year‑old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All three had been released on bail while enquiries continue.
“Our investigation is progressing and we continue to appeal for information,” the police spokesperson said.
