A York cycle path has been cordoned off by police hunting for man who shot at a parked car at the weekend.
A section of the Tang Hall cycle path is taped off and under police guard today.
The path is closed from its entrance on Fifth Avenue to the end close to Melrosegate Bridge and Derwent Avenue.
Police have been seen searching along the cycle path with sniffer dogs.
It follows the incident when the firearm was discharged into an unoccupied parked car on Starkey Cresent in Tang Hall at around 9.25pm on Saturday.
The gunman approached the car on foot and then ran from the scene.

No one was hurt and police say it is believed to be “a targeted incident, with no threat to the wider community”.
A blue Nissan car on Starkey Crescent has been left with a hole in its windscreen and damage to the grill.
