Theatre-maker John Osborne is bringing a night of Christmas poems and stories to York this December.
If you’re looking for a cosily spectacular event to step into the magic of Christmas – look no further.
There Will Be Tinsel is at Rise@Bluebird Bakery, in Acomb, York, on Friday 19 December from 8:30pm.
With a record player on stage playing Christmas records, a stage covered in Christmas lights and tinsel, this is the perfect show for a night out in December.
Audiences can expect to be treated to relaxed, seasonal festive poems and stories that have already proved popular at Christmas shows in recent years – and endorsed by comedy icon Stewart Lee.
John Osborne is a scriptwriter and Radio 4 regular based in Norwich.
He is a regular at festivals including Latitude, Glastonbury and the Edinburgh fringe as well as performing in pubs, cafes, libraries and village halls throughout the UK.
His theatre show John Peel’s Shed has toured across the UK, with sell-out performances at The Lowry, Soho Theatre and Glastonbury Festival and was broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
In 2016 After Hours, the sitcom he co-wrote with Molly Naylor starring Jaime Winstone and Ardal O’Hanlon was shown on Sky 1 and is still streaming now on NOW TV.
Bring your family, work colleagues and friends to experience a cheerful atmosphere that embraces the magic of Christmas! Tickets are £10 and available via Eventbrite.
