Spicy Stiggles land a van driver in trouble with North Yorkshire Police

A van driver who overloaded on snacks landed in hot water.

North Yorkshire Police were carrying out checks at Scotch Corner with the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency yesterday (Thursday).

They pulled over this van, which was jam packed with boxes of Director’s Cut Spicy Stiggles.

Described as a baked spicy corn bar snack which is popular in pubs, the Stiggles meant the van was more than 5% overweight.

Traffic officer David Minto said on Twitter: “After some ‘snacks’ were jettisoned, the prohibition was lifted and the driver allowed to continue his journey. Driver reported.”

A flatbed truck that was nearly 13% overweight was seized by police.
