A shop has closed on Coney Street in York, blaming the economic climate.
Optician and hearing centre Acuitis opened on the street more than three years ago.
A note has appeared on its window saying: “Over the years, it has been a true pleasure and an honour to welcome you, to care for your vision and hearing, and to be part of your everyday wellbeing.
“We are deeply grateful for the trust you placed in us.
“Unfortunately, the current economic climate has not been favourable, and we are no longer able to continue our activity.”

It then directs York customers to its shops in Lincoln and Exeter.
The brand was launched in Switzerland in 2010. Glasses and equipment can still be seen inside its former Coney Street venue.
