A serious crash has closed a section of the A19 this afternoon (Wednesday).
It’s near Great Thirkleby, close to Thirsk.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The road is currently closed in both directions and is expected to remain closed for some time while emergency services respond and enquiries are carried out.

“Please avoid the area where possible and plan alternative routes.”
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene. We have no reports of any casualties as yet.
