Some schools in York are allowing pupils to wear PE kits for classes this week as temperatures rise.
They include Pickering Community Junior Primary School and The Mount School in Dalton Terrace in York.
It’s as The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issued an amber alert for all of Yorkshire and The Humber from 1am this morning (Wednesday, June 24) until 11pm on Thursday.
Other schools across Yorkshire have closed but currently there aren’t any in North Yorkshire who have taken this measure.
