Crews were called to a fire close to a York shopping centre last night (Sunday).
York firefighters went to the incident in a field at Monks Cross at 7.38pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival the crews found a fire measuring approximately 1m x 1m consisting of a roadwork safety barrier.
“Crews used spades and soil to extinguish the fire.”
