A band of thunder and heavy rain has been moving through North Yorkshire and York this morning bringing some brief relief from a muggy night.
Northern Powergrid says there have been isolated power cuts.
These have been reported in Grosmont, Ampleforth, Filey, Helperby and various other rural locations.
Northern Powergrid says teams are working to restore the service as quickly as possible.
Some power cuts are actually scheduled engineering work rather than linked to the storms.
