One year after opening, a York pub has submitted plans to expand.
The Dubliner started trading last December in the former home of The Maltings on Tanners Moat.
Since then it has established itself as a popular Irish-themed bar with live music seven nights a week.
Now it wants to create a new bar area on the first floor of the pub.
At the moment, only the ground floor and outside bar area are licensed. Here, the owners want to remove the kitchen and replace it with a disabled toilet.
They would also lose the gents loos on the ground floor to make way for expanded ladies loos.

The first floor is now made up of accommodation for the manager of the pub. That’s set to be remodelled.
“All internal partitions that created the bedrooms and lounge are removed as part of the demolition phase,” planning documents say.
“The space is to be entirely converted to commercial use, featuring a new bar service and customer seating space.”
Residential bathrooms would be removed and new gents toilets installed. And there’ll be a new dedicated food prep area “for non-cooked food”.
Documents say the building has been operated as a pub since 1842.
The application concludes: “The refurbishment will bring a fresh, new branded establishment to York, securing the building’s long-term commercial viability.
“It is considered that the proposals will sustain the character of the building and its setting and do not cause any adverse effects on its historical importance or fabric.”
