Popular York beer garden reopens after months of closure due to fire

A popular York beer garden has reopened – after months of refurbishment from fire damage.

Brew York’s riverside beer garden at their Taproom and Beer Hall on Walmgate reopened over the weekend, after a period of closure since September when it suffered significant damage following a fire outbreak.

Now, it’s back with a whole new look just in time for those sunny days spent by the river with a pint.

Take a look at the newly riverside beer garden in the video Brew York posted on social media.

It features fresh decking and brand new garden furniture – but the same beautiful views overlooking the River Foss and Rowntree’s Wharf.

Brew York wrote on social media that “after months of hard work, we’re incredibly excited to finally welcome you back.

“Come join us, soak up the atmosphere, and raise a glass to a brand new chapter for our beer garden!”

Brew York was founded in 2016 by friends Wayne Smith and Lee Grabham, and is celebrating its tenth year this year. To find out more and what they offer, visit the Brew York website here.
