Police stopped and seized an electric bike being ridden by a young man in a York village.
They located the mountain bike on the A166 at Dunnington on Thursday (2 July).
The e-bike had been illegally adapted and had defective brakes.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “It was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 due to being used on a public road without a policy of insurance.
“Our enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
“If you know of anyone riding around on suspected illegal electric bikes, please contact us via 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.”
