Police who raided a North Yorkshire village business discovered a sophisticated cannabis farm.
Four people have been arrested after the operation at the Top Job Hand Car Wash on Doncaster Road in Burn, near Selby.
Residents saw a large number of police at the premises yesterday (Wednesday).
Police said today that officers from the Selby Neighbourhood Support Team, alongside local neighbourhood officers, went to the business following tip-offs.
Inside they uncovered “a highly organised and professional cannabis cultivation operation”.
Hundreds of plants were found across multiple areas of the premises, with the scale, layout and equipment “indicating a significant level of planning and criminal sophistication”.

An 18‑year‑old man and three people in their 30s were arrested on suspicion of cultivating a Class-B drug. All four remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
Inspector Rob Campbell of North Yorkshire Police said: “Discoveries like this highlight the scale and organisation behind cannabis production. These operations are far from minor or harmless.

“Large‑scale grow sites pose real dangers to the community, often involving unsafe electrical alterations and increased fire risks, which can result in serious incidents such as power outages.
“We continue to urge landlords, letting agents and members of the public to report anything unusual or suspicious. Information from the community plays a vital role in helping us disrupt organised criminal networks.”
