Police have been called in after a car was found on fire in a lay-by west of York.
Firefighters from Acomb were called to the incident on the A59 at Green Hammerton at 1.26am today (Saturday).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used two hose reel jets, one breathing apparatus, lighting and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

“The cause is believed deliberate and the area was left with police to investigate further.”
