Police investigate burglary in village south of York

Police are appealing for the public’s help following a burglary.

It happened on Friday (2 August) between 3pm and 4pm.

Cash and sentimental items were taken from a home on Main Street, Escrick.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re particularly appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at that time.

“In particular, the suspect may have made off from the area carrying a stolen blue holdall/ duffle bag containing other stolen property.”
