A main road which was closed in York due to a police incident is now back open.
At 6.05pm York Travel reported: “Foss Islands Road closed in both directions between its junctions with Layerthorpe and the Morrisons access road due to a police incident.”
But the full closure didn’t last long.

At 6.13pm there was gave this update: “This is now a partial closure of the southbound lanes and police are directing traffic.”
At the time, travel sites were reporting traffic at a near standstill on the road.
Then York Travel updated at 6.37pm: “This is now clear.”
