There’s been a significant emergency service response to an incident by the river in York this afternoon (Tuesday).
At least four police vehicles responded to an emergency off Landing Lane, Fulford.
An ambulance and unmarked emergency vehicles also went to the scene.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from York and Acomb responded to a call to assist with a person in the water.
“That person was rescued and is now in the care of ambulance staff, en route to hospital.”
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received an emergency call at 2.11pm on Tuesday afternoon to report a person in the River Ouse in the Fulford area of York.
“A number of ambulance resources were dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed to York Hospital.”
Earlier, police officers were seen with flotation devices near the River Ouse.
Emergency services have now left Landing Lane.



The York Rescue Boat volunteers were also called out to the incident. In a post on Facebook, the charity said that “no further details will be available at this time.”
