Police hunting man in his 70s after attack outside York supermarket

A man was attacked outside a York supermarket in broad daylight – and his assailant was aged around 70.

Police have issued a description of the suspect following the assault at around 3.30pm on Tuesday 27 August.

It happened outside Sainsbury’s on Foss Bank.

The victim suffered injuries to his head and neck.

Police are appealing for information about the suspect, who is described as

  • around 70-years-old
  • of large build
  • with short grey hair
  • and wearing glasses.

He was believed to have been wearing a blue or turquoise T-shirt and possibly wearing shorts.
