Police called in after deliberate fire in York wood

There’s been another fire started deliberately in York overnight.

Firefighters were called to Knavesmire Wood at 6.34pm yesterday (Friday).

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Acomb responded to a fire measuring 1m x 1m in the woods which consisted of brash.

“Crews extinguished the fire and police were informed as this was believed a deliberate fire.”
