Pictures: Mixie joins in the Coronation street party fun

Dozens of street parties took place across York and North Yorkshire today.

But not all of them had a bright orange guest drop by to join in the Coronation fun!

Mixie the Monster loves nothing more than a knees up.

The YorkMix Radio mascot first went to Staynor Hall Primary School in Selby, where they were holding a royal celebration for the youngsters.

Mixie made a lot of friends and admired the bunting and the tasty spread fit for a king.

Next stop was the Camblesforth Hall celebrations.

The sun shone down on their royal party, which included refreshments, stalls, a raffle – and even a miniature railway.

Across city and county, places were bedecked with bunting and union flags. Here are just a couple of examples…
